Hungry bargain hunters should head to Curry Leaf in Jordan, whose manager is hoping to attract customers with a well-priced buffet.

Offered from noon-2.30pm at only HK$78 per person, the buffet offers an extensive selection of dishes including salads, a delicious fish curry, dal, samosas, tender tandoori chicken, chicken Madras (cooked with spices and coconut milk), jeera aloo (potatoes sautéed with cumin seeds and spices), soup, bread, rice and desserts. It’s a real bargain, but you should arrive early; we visited at 2pm, and much of the food was gone, and it wasn’t replenished.

The price of the buffet also includes soft drinks – we recommend the lassi (mango, strawberry or banana) for a supplementary charge of HK$10 (at dinner it costs HK$35).

We also paid a visit for dinner, where we ordered the chicken tikka (four pieces for HK$80): savoury pieces of boneless chicken marinated with yogurt and spices.
Lamb seekh kebab.

Lamb seekh kebab (HK$135) has a delicious gaminess that you could taste through the mix of spices, while the aloo baigan masala (HK$80) – a lighter dish with potatoes and eggplant – is good with the meats.
