CLOSED Restaurant review: Two Two Chicken in Tai Hang – Korean fried chicken
South Korean chain’s first Hong Kong outlet uses less batter for its fried chicken, the sweet and spicy version was a success, but the garlic chicken was soggy and the spicy version too dry during restaurant’s trial opening
Two Two Chicken, a 30-year-old Korean fried chicken chain, has opened its first Hong Kong outlet in Tai Hang, providing another choice for those who love the Korean delicacy.
The chain has more than 300 outlets in South Korea. The sauces, seasonings, chefs and fryers are all from Korea.
As it’s currently on a trial opening, the menu is limited. Diners can order a half chicken (five pieces for HK$78) or a whole one (10 pieces for HK$148).
The fried chicken served here seems like a healthier choice than versions served at other shops: the skin is less crunchy because the batter is thinner.
