Restaurant review: M&S Café in Mong Kok– cheap and tasty rest stop after a hard day’s shopping

Marks & Spencer has recently opened a café inside its supermarket in Langham Place in Mong Kok.

Although the M&S Café boasts a simple set-up with only a few seats, there are some surprises on offer.

The afternoon tea set (HK$179 for two) comes in three tiers, with classic British treats such as Scottish smoked salmon cheese sandwiches, tuna and cucumber sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, scones and chocolate cake, which can be washed down with a nice cup of tea.

Although not as dainty as those served in high-end cafés, the cakes and sandwiches were delicious and the tea set is reasonably priced.

We also liked the crushed avocado on toast (HK$49 for two pieces). The avocado came in a creamy and generous layer on top of chewy bread.
