The meat-free burger this Hongkonger could eat every day, plus where to go in Spain for the best pintxos

  • Head to Treehouse for a top-quality falafel burger, says Ceicy Wong, and celebrate any occasion at Tosca di Angelo in the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong
  • When abroad, she loves Spain for the small dishes served in many bars and restaurants – just be aware of the hours-long siesta in the middle of the day

Ceicy Wong is the Hong Kong managing director and local business partner of Vegware, a company that makes a wide range of compostable food-packaging that is plastic-free and plant-based.

I’m a slow eater, and I tend to take my time to enjoy my food and the conversation. Companionship and warm service are the best seasoning for any dish. I’ve also, over the past few years, been eating less meat. I feel lighter and as if I have a clearer mind.

I enjoy the falafel burger at the Treehouse (Shop 1, H Code, 45 Pottinger Street, Central, tel: 3791 2277). It’s made with high-quality vegetables and is very filling. I could eat these delicious burgers every day and not feel guilty. They also use our plant-based disposable Vegware, and there’s a bin right outside where you can recycle the packaging.

I discovered Peek-A-Poke (16 Haven Street, Causeway Bay, tel: 5595 7729) recently – it is now my favourite restaurant after a long weekend hike. Their poke bowl is filling, made with fresh ingredients and perfect for recharging after exercise.
