Favourite Hong Kong restaurants for Mexican food, vegan and vegetarian bites, and ‘jaw-dropping’ doughnuts of a branding veteran and NFT developer
- Design veteran Lance Chiu recommends Veda in Central for its high-end vegetarian options, and Mexican restaurant Chicano for its ‘amazing’ tacos
- For sweet cravings, his go-to is online bakery Dough Beings, which he loves for its ‘jaw-dropping’ doughnuts and panettone – that often sell out in 30 minutes

With Covid-19, I feel like many of us are looking to live healthier. I have found myself cooking a lot, and I’ve evolved a cleaner palate. I have a new appreciation for the extra effort to make healthy foods flavourful.
I like Dandy’s Organic Cafe (32 Upper Lascar Row, Sheung Wan. Tel: 2838 6166) for its gluten-free, family options. I go to Fresca (G/F, 54A Hollywood Road, Central. Tel: 2770 2282) for vegetarian bites and takeaway choices.
Veda (2 Arbuthnot Road, Central. Tel: 3755 3067) is great for higher-end vegetarian. It’s where my wife and I can have a date night, while still not feeling overwhelmed with a huge meal.

As a true foodie, though, I occasionally have my sweet cravings, and that’s satisfied by the culinary wizardry of [online bakery] Dough Beings (doughbeings.com). The jaw-dropping doughnuts and panettone display an amazing interplay of flavours, which is why they often sell out for the month in 30 minutes or less.
