10 new Hong Kong restaurants, bars and cafes to visit in May 2023, from a Transformers-themed fast food joint to steakhouses and sukiyaki
- New openings include Transformers: The Ark in Causeway Bay offering themed burgers and a retail space, with steakhouse Carver nearby at the Crowne Plaza hotel
- There’s also Feuille in Central from the chef of a two-Michelin-star restaurant in Paris, and Whiskers N Paws’ space-themed pet grooming cafe in Tseung Kwan O

The hoardings have come off from a variety of restaurants and bars recently that are opening their doors in Hong Kong.
These notably include a Transformers-themed restaurant opposite Times Square in Causeway Bay, which is ready for business ahead of the June premiere of the latest film in the franchise, Transformers: Rise of the Beast.
Also in Causeway Bay, a new steakhouse at the Crowne Plaza hotel will attract meat eaters, who might also savour the launch across the harbour of a sukiyaki restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui offering top-quality Japanese beef.
For those who prefer more plant-forward cuisine, chef David Toutain of his eponymous two-Michelin-star restaurant in Paris will launch Feuille in Central – his first restaurant outside France.
Meanwhile, we herald the return of some old favourites, including Nana Chan of the now-closed Teakha relaunching her Plantation concept as a tea bar in Sai Ying Pun.
Read on for more on those and other exciting openings that can be enjoyed in May, in no particular order.
