A five-year hiatus will come to an end in Hong Kong when the city holds its first fireworks event since 2018 – on National Day, October 1, which celebrates the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The 23-minute show over Victoria Harbour will start at 9pm, and those hoping to grab a bite to eat while watching are recommended to book a late evening dinner to guarantee a good viewing spot.
In the years since the last fireworks show, many new restaurants and bars – some with expansive rooftops and terrace spaces – have opened, offering more front-row seats to the pyrotechnic display.
