Korean ginseng researchers are creating new ginseng varieties and farming tools, and ginseng companies are investing in promoting their products abroad, to reinvigorate demand for the crop.
That is according to South Korea’s Rural Development Administration (RDA) and Korean Ginseng Corporation (KGC).

Ginseng sales have been on a steep decline. Reasons include extreme weather resulting from climate change that hampers the crop’s growth and the global health-supplement market that has grown saturated.

Korean experts are betting on the quality of locally grown ginseng, and creative recipes, to introduce new tastes while maximising its health features.
