Cheap flights to Europe in 2018: trips from Hong Kong to top European cities even cheaper this summer than last year

Ten Hong Kong-Europe cheap flight bargains you can profit from, with prices a lot lower than last year, according to travel search engine Kayak. What are you waiting for?

Long-haul trips from Hong Kong to Europe are more affordable in 2018 than last year, according to travel search engine Kayak.

Its research show that trips to Istanbul this summer can be up to 70 per cent cheaper than they were at the same time last year, those to Prague 51 per cent cheaper, and those to Milan, Vienna, Munich, Manchester and Athens all 20-30 per cent cheaper.

Are Hong Kong travellers’ go-to European destinations changing? It seems so, at least for 2018, with Moscow, Manchester, Zurich and Amsterdam all experiencing increases in flight searches from Hong Kong of at least 129 per cent.

“Airlines are increasing frequency of direct flights from Hong Kong, and they are offering more promotions to Hong Kong travellers,” said Amy Wei, vice-president, Asia-Pacific of Kayak.

“We are glad to see from our data that Hongkongers are keen to explore destinations that are further out for new travel experiences,” said Wei. “If well planned, travelling to Europe can be affordable and easy.”

Kayak's average trip price is based on a return economy flight plus five nights in a three-star hotel. Its research was based on searches originating from Hong Kong for economy return flights for travel between May and the end of August 2018.

In no particular order, here are some ideas for this summer, including trending and newly affordable destinations in Europe for Hongkongers:

That is 70 per cent cheaper than last year.
