Do selfies still cut it as acceptable travel photography?

The internet is packed with advice on “how to take a brilliant selfie”, from capturing an unusual angle and pulling an interesting expression to including others in your selfie.

However, the best selfie advice for travellers is becoming increasingly obvious: do not take them.

Even for travellers obsessed with their social media feeds, in this age of ever-better smartphone cameras – many with wide-angle cameras – not to mention drones and even robotic cameras, curating travel photos now means being a lot more creative than taking handheld self-portraits in front of a series of different backdrops.
