I love to eat out and I enjoy finding new places, so I eat outside work quite often, especially on my days off. Macau is full of small restaurants where the chef is also the owner. There is always something new, or an interesting combination that can really surprise you.

My favourite Chinese restaurant is (2/F The Shops at the Boulevard, City of Dreams, Estrada do Istmo, Cotai, tel: +853 8868 2822). The barbecue, dim sum and signature dishes are precise and very tasty.

For French, my favourite is (43/F Grand Lisboa Hotel, Avenida de Lisboa, tel: +853 8803 7878). The guinea fowl is great, as is the signature "les saveurs iodées".

I recommend (MGM Macau, Avenida Dr Sun Yat Sen, Nape, tel: +853 8802 2319) to get a fantastic sole meunière.

For less formal dining, I get some Portuguese wine and head off to the beach for clams at (Zona Norte da Praia de Hac Sa, Coloane, tel: +853 2888 2623). It's ideal for a sunny day. I take every guest chef or family member who visits Macau there.

For a quick lunch or a casual dinner, it's (11/F Altira Macau, Avenida de Kwong Tung, Taipa, tel: +853 2886 8868) for California rolls and sushi; I love it. Then there is a small Japanese place next to my house called (Block B, Edificio Mei King, 50 Rua da Alfandega Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, tel: +853 2893 8964).

Late night, I order noodles from a little local shop called (28-30 Rua Do Cunha, Taipa, tel: +853 2882 5323), famous for crab congee. The guy makes his own stock and the flavour is great.
