Favourite Hong Kong restaurants of Jenny Zhang at Nature's Bounty
At home, I eat very healthily, thanks to my mother who makes magic with the simplest ingredients. But I like to indulge when I go out.

My favourite eatery is a hidden gem called (1/F, 16 Ashley Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2957 8041). It's a down-to-earth bar with great drinks and food. It is my go-to place with friends visiting Hong Kong for the first time. The chef is off on random days so with a bit of luck you will get to try his perfectly grilled ribs. I recommend the nachos. They also make my favourite mojito, and I've tried mojitos all over town. Hands down the ginger mojito with extra ginger is the best — it has the perfect balance of smooth and spicy.
(16/F Shui Ki Industrial Building, 18 Wong Chuk Hang Road, Aberdeen tel: 2884 0768) is special because of its setting and its superb steaks cooked to perfection. I recommend making a reservation for T-Bone Tuesday. It is a four-course meal with a refreshing salad, oysters, steak and dessert for less than HK$800 per person. I went with friends and every course was delicious.
For a quick bite I frequent small local restaurants because they are far too often underappreciated, and it feels great to support neighbourhood businesses. One of my favourites is (Po Kai Mansion, 408-410 Castle Peak Road, Kwai Chung, tel: 3184 0266). It's close to my office and has a great beef brisket soup noodle with a hint of traditional Chinese medicine ingredients in the soup base. It goes wonderfully with the tender brisket.
I also love (119 Fuk Wing Street, Sham Shui Po, tel: 2715 9118) for its delicious roast goose noodle soup.
