My go-to breakfast has and always will be at the (47-49 Parkes Street, Jordan, tel: 2730 1356). The scrambled eggs and steamed milk are to die for and, despite the name, this place is a true Hong Kong institution.
Vietnam may not be producing the best wines yet, but that doesn't mean that a good wine doesn't pair well with the cuisine. (58-60 Peel Street, SoHo, tel: 2810 0850) is where I head to for a tasty Vietnamese meal. I love the garlic chicken wings.
(9 Shin Hing Street, Central, tel: 2568 8857) is a family-owned French hideout in the heart of NoHo, and serves up seasonal Parisian fare with an unrivalled wine list. The weekend brunch is also a must-try.
Speaking of NoHo, the best coffee I've found in Hong Kong is at (11 Gough Street, Sheung Wan, tel: 2253 1313). And if you have a sweet tooth then you must try the outstanding ice cream sandwich. (33 Hillier Street, Sheung Wan, tel: 2572 0238) is a cool little joint with brews to make any java lover go weak at the knees.
The wine list at (5/F Langham Place Hotel, 555 Shanghai Street, Mong Kok, tel: 3552 3028) is great. The slogan is "Wine Dine Be Social" — a perfect fit for me any day of the week.
(1-7 Ship Street, Wan Chai, tel: 2555 0628) is great for a bit of tapas, jamon and sherry. I love sherry and this joint is the perfect spot for it. It has the largest sherry list in Asia which explains why they always have a queue.
