There's not much Laibach can't do. Formed in 1980 in the small coal mining town of Trbovlje in Slovenia, the band has staged almost 1,000 concerts and sold more than amillion albums.

While they are known for industrial avant-garde music, an exhibition, running until March 20, offers a look at their other endeavours including collages, posters, graphics, paintings, videos and installations.

"We wanted to introduce the 'Laibach culture' - encompassing music and art - to Hong Kong, since Laibach has never been here before," says Juiz, the co-curator of local art space Culture Industries Association, which is hosting the event.

"During the show, we'll present reproductions of their visual works, screen videos and films on, and by, Laibach, and sell merchandise specifically produced in collaboration with the band, as well as concert tickets [for the live show at The Vine Centre in Wan Chai on March 22]. It's a chance for visitors to get an insight into the Laibach culture," she says.

While there are quirky items on show, including one of Laibach's stag tattoo machines, highlights of the show are the many propaganda posters adorning the walls of the gallery in Kwai Chung. With slogans such as "All the Dead Eternally Dream About Truth", "Bloody Ground - Fertile Soil", "The Politicising of Women" and "United States of Europe", it's clear that the band has a strong anti-establishment message.
