Lara Genovese follows through on her passion. Last year she took an acting class in Los Angeles, and was cast as Kate in the play P.S. Your Cat Is Dead!. She fell in love with the script and vowed to stage the play in Hong Kong.

"I knew it should be my next project, and I had a rough idea of who I wanted on board. The audition process proved my vision right," says Genovese, founder of Naiad Productions.

"Michael Rogers and Hamish Campbell are just perfect, and Michael Pizzuto, even if only for 10 minutes, is hilarious as Fred. The script is brilliant, and could not be funnier, and the plot twists are funny," she says.

The play follows the down-and-out life of Jimmy Zoole (played by Rogers), a thirty-something actor living in the West Village of Manhattan. He's been robbed twice, lost his part in a play, his cat's on the critical list, and his girlfriend (Genovese) is leaving him. He discovers a burglar hiding in his loft and that's when the fun and games start. To avenge his pathetic life, he ties the robber Vito (Campbell) to the kitchen table and keeps him prisoner over New Year's Eve. The unlikely pair establish a bond.

The dark comedy first came to light as a novel by Tony Award winner James Kirkwood. It was made into a film in 2002 starring Steve Guttenberg.
