Colin Symmonds is a physiotherapist and clinical manager at Joint Dynamics

Working in the health industry means that I try my best to walk the talk with my eating habits. Non-processed foods, organic grass-fed meats and fresh organic vegetables are what our bodies need to function well.

I love simple dishes that are centred around quality ingredients. I particularly like (3/F L Place, 139 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2915 1638). Their Tasmanian grass-fed beef is amazing, as is the quality of meat at (2/F L Place, 139 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2870 2323).

My alternative to eating out is buying my own produce. (three locations, including 53 Caine Road, Mid-Levels, tel: 2898 9000) has an amazing range of vegetables and grass-fed meats. Home delivery from (graciouslygreen.com) is a great alternative to home cooking, especially when it is my helper who cooks the deliveries.

When I have friends in town we eat out a lot, and I like to make sure they see a side of Hong Kong that's not on the postcards.

I take them to the Chinese doctor on Stanley and Cochrane Street (Good Spring Company, 8 Cochrane Street, Central, tel: 2544 3518) and try the herbal drinks. It's a third-generation traditional Chinese medicine shop and a great example of the long-held practices inherent in Chinese medicine. Whether they believe in it or not, my guests always walk away entertained.
