Clockwise from top: Maxell AirStash, SanDisk Connect, Kingston Wi-Drive.

With a seven-hour battery, the Maxell AirStash (from HK$1,395, airstash.com) comes in 8GB and 16GB sizes, but it can be easily upgraded using any SD card up to 2TB. Three devices can stream from the AirStash simultaneously, but it's that SD card slot that will delight photographers. Supporting all kinds of pro formats up to 75 megapixels, AirStash is perfect for photographers with DSLR cameras that want to instantly view photos on a tablet.

The SanDisk Connect (from HK$790, price.com.hk) is great for controlling what children watch and listen to while travelling or at home. Working for four hours and able to stream to three devices at once, the SanDisk Wireless Flash app is password-protected to allow parents to specify which files can be accessed. Available in 16GB, 32GB or 64GB, it uses a microSD card slot, so is easy to upgrade. Jamie Carter

Available in 32GB or 64GB, the Kingston Wi-Drive (from HK$899, foresoon.com.hk) is powered by a five-hour battery. Up to three Android or iOS devices can wirelessly stream content stored on it, though everything is done via a free Wi-Drive app. What makes Wi-Drive special is its ability to link to a Wi-fi router, so devices linking to it can access the web at large while streaming content from it.
