The latest gadgets for people on the go
Here's our pick of the hottest portable tech gadgets to look forward to, and a few you can get your hands on today

If the recent International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas is anything to go by, we are in for quite a narcissistic year. Major smartphone and compact camera brands are releasing new models in the next few months that target buyers who want to take photos of themselves (with their family, friends and pets as background) any time, anywhere without putting up a struggle. Chinese brands are also making waves at this year's event so expect to see a more diverse range of products from Xiaomi, Meizu, Huawei and Lenovo on the market. For those who can't wait until the release of the Apple Watch, there are still plenty of gadgets out there to keep even the most diehard geeks entertained.
Smartphones
The selfie is dead; long live the "wefie". The self-portrait photo continues to dominate innovation in smartphones, and more besides. Many new handsets have upgraded front camera resolution to match the rear, with some adding a wide-angle lens, too; phones such as the ZTE Grand Max+ (available in January) that can take a much wider shot.
The Lenovo Vibe X2 Pro (HK$3,093) features 13-megapixel front and rear cameras while the great value Huawei Honor 6 Plus (HK$3,080, out now) includes no less than three eight-megapixel snappers; one on the front for selfies (there's even a panoramic mode), and two on the back that - rather magically - make it possible to change the focal point in photos within a simple photo editing app.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge (HK$7,498) adds a 120-degree "wide selfie" mode, though it's surely more famous for its deliciously curved side that acts as an easy-access news ticker.
