The Grand Buffet
62/F, Hopewell Centre, 183 Queen's Road East,Wan Chai, 2506 0888
With The Grand Buffet's closure at Macau's Grand Lisboa last year, the concept has come to Hong Kong. Since its opening, the tables have been full every night and for good reason. The 360-degree revolving restaurant in the Hopewell Centre has breathtaking views, and the food is spectacular.
Some food is cooked at the stations while you wait - the pan-seared foie gras is especially good. Stations include fresh and seasonal fare from a live seafood counter, a Cantonese barbecue meat section, a rice and noodle section - we especially enjoyed the laksa - a tempura and teppanyaki section, and roast beef and Indian curry sections. Then there are the desserts with many flavours of macarons, and ice cream "fried" while you wait.
Hong Kong's first Enomatic wine dispensers offer more than 60 premium wines, Champagnes and sake by the glass. You select your tipple and swipe a prepaid card. Beers and spirits are also available.
