TURN ONS Open from Monday to Saturday from 8am until 5.30pm, Sing Heung Yuen serves nothing but tomato-based noodle dishes. You cannot miss this street stall, as there are always long lines of people waiting to get a seat. We joined the queue around 11.15 am on a weekday and got a seat within 10 minutes. The menu includes instant noodles, macaroni and rice noodles topped with a choice of eggs, bacon, sausages, ham, luncheon meat, beef and chicken wings. We went for the bacon and eggs with macaroni, and the luncheon meat and sausage with the instant noodles. The tomato soup was sweet and tasty, and we were told there is no MSG in the food. The bread is also good, with a choice of soft or crispy buns, and raisin bread with butter, condensed milk or jam and peanut butter spreads. We went for the crispy toasted buns with condensed milk, which went well with the noodle soup. We can understand why this eatery is popular - the dishes are simple, tasty and inexpensive.
TURN OFFS Waiting to get served once you have a seat can take up to 10 minutes, as the servers are very busy.
DRINKS Soft drinks and cold teas.
