Delicious bread treats at Tartine in Central

Tracey Furniss

With a menu designed by Michelin-starred Philippe Orrico from Nomad Dining, the group behind ON DINING Kitchen & Lounge and UPPER Modern Bistro, our expectations were high for Tartine. The concept is casual all-day dining farm-to-table French tartine and there are certainly lots of delicious bread treats available on the menu.

We started with the lobster and home-made bechamel with lobster bisque(HK$138) - lobster on toast with lobster bisque poured over it and there is enough for two. I loved it. the toast was crispy, the bisque creamy, definitely a must-try. We also tried the black truffle sandwich with butter and black truffle filling (HK$138) and the pork rillettes du mans (HK$68) - a tasty pate served in a jar, with crispy home-made bread.

The set lunch consists of a choice of two or three dishes and a drink (HK$118 or HK$148, respectively). From this menu we went for the smooth and tasty green pea gazpacho and asparagus and Parma ham, ending with a sweet of Nutella spread on brioche, topped with candies and orange.

The split-level restaurant is next to the escalator on Lyndhurst Terrace and has lots of light from the windows. There is a bar and terrace on the top floor.
