Dining Concepts has expanded its popular Argentinean steak house brand Tango to a great location in Kowloon, Civic Square on the 3rd floor rooftop at Elements.

There is a bar on the ground floor which was packed with happy hour after-work revellers when we arrived. Happy hour was not available in the upstairs restaurant, however.

So we reached for the wine menu and decided to have a very good Melbec (HK$115). The restaurant started to get busy at around 7pm. The service was friendly with the right amount of waiting time between courses.

For starters, we decided on two light and refreshing dishes - tuna ceviche with avocado, chilli and vinaigrette (HK$158) followed by a salad of grilled palm hearts, avocado and tomatoes with a creamy dressing (HK$128). For mains, we shared the gaucho platter (HK$548) featuring rump steak, fillet and skirt. It was excellent and came with six salsas including spicy tomato, chimichurri , criolla, roasted tomatillo, Dijon and horseradish.

For the side dishes, we tried creamed spinach and mash (both HK$68). For dessert, the flan de leche with whipped cream (HK$78) or caramel custard was perfectly sweet and delicious after the heavy main course.

We also tried the homemade ice cream (HK$78 for three scoops). We went for the chocolate - three times.

Tango is everything you would expect in a perfect steak house experience - succulent steaks in a casual, friendly environment.
