TURN-ONS
The quality of ingredients and execution of dishes made this an enjoyable experience. We started with a light seafood salad with tasty fresh mussels, squid, clams, prawns, frisee shaved fennel, lemon and dill. The French onion consommé came with three bite pieces of parmesan anchovy toast, which was packed with flavour. For mains, we went for the poached Pacific cod - which was soft and cooked to perfection - with carrot gnocchi, potatoes, Chinese chives and parsley; and lamb cutlets with honeyed baklava, broccoli puree and celeriac remoulade. We ordered the lamb medium to well done and it was perfectly succulent with a balance of flavours from the accompaniments. For dessert, the honey ice cream with deep fried chocolate with honeycomb was surprisingly not that sweet due to the bitter dark chocolate countering the sweetness of the honeycomb and ice cream.

TURN-OFFS
The croquembouche of vanilla puff - a mountain of small choux puffs and cream - with grapefruit parfait and citrus was amazing, but we were told it will soon be taken off the menu. No! Don’t do it! DRINKS The gastropub has its own G&T on tap and offers more than 70 wines on the list, 17 of which are available by the glass. There are also 24 different beers of which 22 are craft, with 10 Hong Kong brews, and whisky lovers can enjoy a choice of 37 whiskies on the shelf.
