FARE Tapas-inspired gastro market AMBIENCE The place is always buzzing, with its interactive food stations centre stage offering a mix of international fare. There are small and big plates for sharing, from Spanish tapas to noodles and pasta. COST HK$500 with a drink. WHO TO BRING The lunch crowd, friends and family. TURN-ONS Although this is not a Spanish restaurant per se, it has tapas-inspired dishes with a handful of Spanish classics like braised chorizo in apple cider with caramelised onion; prawn in olive oil with chilli and garlic – save your bread to dip into the garlic sauce, it is so good – and baby squid (HK$100) with farmed egg and Padrón peppers. We also tried a tasty steak tartare with mustard, anchovy and Parmesan, which came with grilled crispy bread. There is a selection of paella such as paella of the day (HK$85 small, HK$140 large) and seafood paella with saffron (HK$240) – we tried the seafood paella and the small size is enough for two. It was packed with mussels, prawns, baby squid and more – a dish done well. We also tried a refreshing burrata, with red and yellow tomatoes in a light pesto dressing with the fresh burrata on top. The dessert trolley carries favourites such as vanilla creme brûlée, apple crumble, and churros. TURN-OFFS It can get busy and hard to find a seat. DRINKS There is a selection of classic cocktails such as highballs, sangria and amaro sour, and a good choice of European wines, including from Greece, Spain and even Lebanon.
