Sunset Grill: Pretty panoramas and pleasurable plates at Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung
- The aptly named eatery offers magnificent views and delicious mains, but skip the rich dessert and stick to a wine pairing with dinner instead

Atop the new Sheraton in Tung Chung is Sunset Grill, aptly named as its large patio is the best place for watching the sunset, while enjoying one of their signature cocktails. The restaurant is spacious with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a bird’s-eye view of the sea and airport.
We started with a fresh seafood platter (HK$888) featuring Fine de Claire oysters, king crab legs, tuna crudo, salmon sashimi, whole tiger prawn, jade whelks and steamed Brittany bouchot mussels with mignonette, Tabasco and cocktail sauces. Other starters include steak tartar (HK$190) made with grain-fed New Zealand fillet with a sake-cured egg and grilled Spanish octopus with carrot textures, Ibérico chorizo and hazelnut (HK$160). We liked the seared Hokkaido scallops (HK$230) which came with curried parsnips and pomegranate molasses.
For mains we tried a deliciously tender brined and roasted half spring chicken (HK$240/whole) and the 44 Farms USDA Choice strip loin (HK$310/280g) which was rich in flavour. They also have some delectable starters on the new Sunday brunch menu. We enjoyed the multi-flavoured olive poached tuna with wasabi avocado, black sesame, chilli and shallot relish, and a light beetroot salad with roasted beets, goat’s cheese mousse and red vein sorrel. We also tried the grilled prawns and seared Hokkaido scallops from the brunch menu.
For dessert, the s’mores (HK$130) were too sweet and rich after such a filling meal. We recommend a wine pairing with dinner.
