Giacomo Ristorante and Caffe review: sophisticated Italian cuisine meets Bridgerton vibes at Crowne Plaza Hong Kong, Causeway Bay

  • The decor reminded us as the fantastical world of Bridgerton, while the art on the walls is worth investigating while you wait to be served
  • While the dishes are based on premium ingredients and executed in a refined manner, we feel the environment and price point should deliver more of a wow factor

FARE Sophisticated Italian cuisine

AMBIENCE High-corniced ceilings with beautifully panelled dove grey walls. The decor looks like it’s taken from the fantastical world of Bridgerton. The art on the walls itself is worth staring at while you wait for your meal.

COST A two-course set lunch starts at HK$480 while a set dinner will set you back by HK$1,480.

WHO TO BRING Anyone who appreciates the finer things in life.

TURN-ONS We kick off our four-course set lunch (HK$680) with the fresh burrata and datarrino tomatoes and rocket. The flesh of the vegetable was firm yet sweet and the burrata was extremely creamy. A strong start.

For the next course, we opted to add HK$180 for the red prawn spaghetti chitarra. The pasta was al dente and the sauce had a sweet, briny flavour presumably from the seafood shell broth.
