Paris-based, Colombian-born designer Esteban Cortazar launched his second collection in July exclusively on Net-a-Porter. When the wonder boy staged his first fashion show, at the 2002 New York Fashion Week, he was just 17, making him the youngest designer to do so. That year, he also released his first ready-to-wear collection. In 2007, he joined Emanuel Ungaro as head designer but left the brand when troubled actress Lindsay Lohan was hired as artistic adviser. In September last year, he launched his eponymous label.
the second collection is "very much an evolution from the first, and explores the dichotomy between the sensual gestures of the female form and lines and angles that frame the body", according to Cortazar. Multiple layers add versatility to many of the pieces, while the use of razor-blade slashes creates a hint of toughness.
