Hong Kong is guilty of many love affairs: it is easily seduced by food, is obsessed with luxury labels, falls heavily for the latest tech trends and can't resist a flirt with a gimmick.

A round of applause then for the W hotel in Kowloon which has managed to combine all these elements in its latest promotion: Fragrance d'amour.

The hotel's new executive chef, Alain Allaire, has collaborated with four brands - Balmain, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin and Montblanc - to create a perfume-inspired afternoon tea set.

But what's really special about this deal is an online personality test that matches diners with a fragrance-inspired cocktail - a sort of alcoholic alter ego.

Plonk (excuse the pun) yourself down in a comfy chair, visit fragrancedamour.com and answer three questions. The site then tells you which "character" you are and issues a drink code. (I got The Rebel: I'm a firecracker who doesn't like sticking to rules, so that sounds about right.)

While you're scoffing down the teeny-weeny, sweet-smelling delights (the raspberry cupcakes and jasmine blackcurrant chocolate cones are divine, but the lychee rose puffs are on the "you're wearing too much perfume" side), show the bartender your code and that cocktail will be yours.
