Sulwhasoo, the South Korean skincare brand that uses ginseng as its hero ingredient, has upgraded its Hydro-Aid Moisturising Soothing Cream (HK$580/50ml). The silky, lightweight formula is enriched with birch sap to replenish tired skin.

Gold flakes have been added to Orogold’s 24K Nano Day Recovery (HK$5,500/50 grams), a gel-like cream that’s light yet very rich (which you will also have to be if you are to afford it). Other ingredients include vitamin A, seaweed extract, sodium hyaluronate and caffeine. If fine lines are your big problem then this is for you.

Accompanied by PR phrases such as “silky soft sensation”, “light and intense” and “extremely fine and meltingly smooth”, Givenchy’s L’Intemporel Global Youth Divine Rich Cream (HK$1,300/50ml) could almost be ice cream. We’re happy to report, however, that this face cream, which includes meadowfoam seed oil and echinacea, hits the spot.
