K-pop boy band’s agency Big Hit Entertainment denies that the star is in a romantic relationship and threatens legal action against anyone spreading rumours

Jungkook, the youngest member of K-pop boy band BTS, is embroiled in rumours that he is dating a tattoo artist

It all started on September 16 when a netizen posted CCTV footage of a man hugging a woman from behind, claiming that the man was Jungkook and he was on Geoje Island in South Gyeongsang province. It was later confirmed to be Jungkook.

“My friend says Jungkook visited the shop on Geoje two days ago, but [they] turned Jungkook away because he couldn’t produce any identification,” the netizen wrote.

Big Hit Entertainment, BTS’ agency, denied that Jungkook was in a romantic relationship and threatened to take legal action against anyone spreading rumours.

The agency admitted that the singer travelled around Geoje on an extended break.

Online users assumed that the woman, who was with JK, was a tattooist, after checking her Instagram account where she introduced herself as such.

Netizens initially believed that the man in the footage was Korean rapper Hash Swan, but he denied it.

Although the band’s agency Big Hit denied that Jungkook is dating, some BTS fans are sceptical about the agency’s announcement. “It seems weird to hug a friend from behind,” a fan wrote on an online community.
