The Korean singer’s album, Purpose also dominated the daily album charts, beating out MC Mong and sibling duo AKMU
K-pop star Taeyeon has topped music charts with her latest number Spark, released on Monday (October 28).
Spark, a powerful, alternative soul song and the lead track of her second studio album “Purpose”, had secured a number one spot on the Melon, Genie Music, Bugs, Olleh Music and Soribada streaming charts among others as of Tuesday (October 29).
Taeyeon outpaced singer MC Mong (Fame) and sibling duo AKMU (How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You're the One I Love).
“Purpose” also dominated the daily album charts on Hanteo and Kyobo. The album contains 12 tracks including the maudlin Here I Am, the soulful Love You Like Crazy, the jazz-flavoured Do You Love Me? and the blues rocker Better Babe.
The singer will hold a fan meeting called “Inside Taeyeon with S♡NE” at Kyung Hee University's Grand Peace Palace in Seoul on November 23.
Taeyeon debuted as a leader of K-pop girl group Girls' Generation in 2007, and launched her solo career in 2015 with the album “I.”
