Will BTS appear in Hollywood’s first K-pop movie? Seoul Girls, by Rebel Wilson, features ‘the world’s biggest K-pop boy band’ – and it sounds awesome
Isn’t It Romantic star Rebel Wilson has written her first film – a K-pop movie about a Korean-American high school student who auditions to open for a band that sounds a lot like BTS – but will the ‘world’s biggest K-pop group’ really make an appearance?
Hollywood's first K-pop movie is in the pipeline, according to American entertainment media outlet Deadline.
The comedy flick Seoul Girls was penned by Australian actress Rebel Wilson, star of the popular romcom movie Isn't It Romantic (2019). She will reportedly appear in the film, but her role is under wraps. Wilson also will help produce it.
“(I have) been working really hard on this behind the scenes,” Wilson wrote on her Instagram feed. “With the first movie I wrote, I really wanted it to star a diverse range of actors, so I'm really proud about putting this together with an amazing team.”

Meredith Wieck, an associate producer on the hit crime movie Now You See Me 2 (2016), will oversee Seoul Girls. American film distributor Lionsgate will release it.
Seoul Girls revolves around a Korean-American high school student and her friends who participate in an audition to become the opening act for the world's biggest K-pop boy band. The K-pop star hopefuls gradually find their voices on the stage, with help from an ex-member of a British girl group and a former K-pop trainee.
Cast details and the release date are not yet known.
