  • If Park joins Brie Larson in the MCU film The Marvels, fans speculate that he will play Amadeus Cho, the son of Dr Helen Cho who debuted in Avengers: Age of Ultron
  • Jeon Jong-seo signed with the same US agency who represents Benedict Cumberbatch, Jessica Alba and Anthony Hopkins, and just wrapped her first US film

As K-dramas and Korean films continue to take the world by storm, more Korean actors are making it in Hollywood too.

Earlier this year, Park Seo-joon – best known for his roles in TV series like She Was Pretty and Itaewon Class – was rumoured to be in talks to join The Marvels, a sequel to 2019 blockbuster hit Captain Marvel.

The rumour may be true, as the 33-year-old actor’s name was recently listed as part of the cast on IMDB’s official The Marvels page. His character and the size of his role are still under wraps, but Marvel fans speculate that Park may be playing Korean-American teenage hero Amadeus Cho, the son of Dr Helen Cho (Claudia Kim), who debuted in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

However, Park’s agency Awesome ENT hasn’t confirmed whether he will star in Marvel’s upcoming film or not. This situation is fairly typical, as Marvel Studios prefers to keep details confidential in the production stage. For the same reason, Kim and Ma Dong-seok – who is playing Gilgamesh in Eternals – have been quiet about their roles until Marvel Studios officially announces the full cast line-up.

If Park is indeed part of the film, he will join a strong female-led cast, including Brie Larson (Captain Marvel Carol Danvers), as well as Teyonah Perris (Monica Rambeau), and Iman Vellani (Kamala Khan). The Marvels is set to hit theatres in the second half of 2022.

Jeon Jong-seo, who signed with United Talent Agency (UTA) for US representation in May, wrapped up filming her Hollywood debut film Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon directed by Ana Lily Amirpour. The Hollywood stars that UTA represents include Anthony Hopkins, Jessica Alba and Benedict Cumberbatch.
