Donald Trump cannot drive his own collection of luxury cars due to security rules that prevent former presidents from getting behind the wheel. But his former White House staff – including his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner – don’t have the same problem. Even before their time in the White House, the couple’s cars weren’t just about getting from A to B, but a big part of their lifestyle. Ivanka has clearly been a fan of cars since she was a little girl, previously sharing a photo of herself as a child sporting a black leather Ferrari jacket. Still, while working in the West Wing, she had to be driven around by the US Secret Service, so for a while the only member of her household pushing the pedal was her youngest son Theodore, who she photographed driving his Little Tikes Cozy Coupe toy around the house. The New York socialite also counts Tesla founder Elon Musk among her idols, calling him “brilliant” and an “innovator in every sense of the word” in April 2015. Here’s a look at four cars in her collection. Double take: is Kimberly Guilfoyle morphing into Melania Trump? 1. Dodge Ram pickup truck Trump and the family are now based in Florida . Despite being given access to Secret Service protection a full six months after leaving Washington, according to The Washington Post, these days they make their own way around. Earlier this year, they were seen collecting their Dodge Ram pickup truck from a valet. Given its size and sturdiness, it seems like a great choice for carting the kids around. Family day out! The vehicle ranges in price from around US$34,000 to US$60,000. 5 times Barron Trump proved he’s too cool for his dad Donald 2. GMC Yukon This February, Trump was seen exiting her Miami flat and collecting her GMC Yukon from the valet at her luxury building. The vehicle is worth somewhere between US$54,000–70,000 and was her motor of choice to take daughter Arabella and son Joseph to school. If family road trips are on the agenda for this year’s holiday, the spacious GMC Yukon easily fits a family of five with comfort. General Motors Co. (GMC), which sells vehicles under the brands including Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, Baojun and Wuling, hosted Trump in 2020 as she carried out her government role as an adviser on jobs. 3. Chevrolet Suburban Another GMC car that Trump has been pictured getting out of is the Chevrolet Suburban. The SUV can cost between US$51,000–75,000 and usually comes with a 6.2-litre V8 engine that can pump 425 horsepower and 460-pound feet of torque. As practising Jews, Trump and Kushner aren’t allowed to use cars during the Sabbath (Friday evening to Saturday), but were granted special permission by a rabbi to attend the presidential inauguration in 2017, according to Politico. Down in the Trumps! How Cristiano Ronaldo lost millions on his Trump Tower flat With various presidential motorcades and Secret Service staff managing her movements over the past few years, it’s a wonder Trump manages to keep track of her cars. In fact, in 2018, The Blast reported that she got into the wrong vehicle after emerging from her hotel, and was ushered into a waiting black SUV by a member of the security team, before another shouted, “That’s not ours, that’s not ours!” 4. Mercedes 220 SE Ponton According to The Independent , Donald once complained that the German-US motor trade had become a one-way street with most of the cars lining up on Fifth Avenue – where he has his famous Trump Tower – being BMWs and Mercedes-Benz models. But his daughter Ivanka is a Mercedes fan herself. In 2015, Trump shared a photo of herself and Kushner – six years after they tied the knot – taking a spin in a Mercedes convertible. The classic 1950s Mercedes 220 SE Ponton was the second design from the German company after Second World War. These days it sells for around US$250,000.
