It was a fabulous fashion-filled week in the world of K-pop, with comebacks, virtual concerts and more. From power girl groups Blackpink and Aespa, to solo singers Hyuna and IU, we explore their sartorial choices: how the stage is reserved for the bright and bold, the most extreme and eccentric looks – while behind-the-scenes is all about letting their beauty shine through.
Below is a rundown of their best style moments, the luxury labels they wore, and new streetwear and home-grown Korean brands to watch out for:

Blackpink proves they are the best in fashion at their first-ever virtual concert, The Show

Stealing the style show were the girls of Blackpink, who certainly came ready with looks to kill at their first-ever virtual concert, simply entitled The Show.

The star was unquestionably The Blonds, a New York label known for its unapologetically over-the-top creations. Although the girls wore pieces from as far back as the brand’s 2016 collection, it felt as though each of the looks were made for them, bringing out the girls’ individual charm.

The Show was part Blackpink concert, part visual feast. Blinks were more than happy that each member had their fair share of the spotlight. Notable pieces we loved included Jennie’s structural rose top by Mihano Momosa, Rosé’s shiny white puffer jacket by Moncler, Jisoo’s voluminous purple organza dress by Haleia, and every The Blonds look worn by Lisa.

Hyuna makes a comeback as only she can

In case you missed it, Hyuna has staged her grand comeback with I’m Not Cool, the title track of her album of the same name. The song’s music video is energetically-charged in true Hyuna style – “it’s a full body workout so I’m losing a lot of weight,” she said of the song’s choreography via Soompi – and likewise a visual feast, too.

Hyuna’s looks are a mix of streetwear brands with high-end fashion. A top pick would be the black cut-out bodysuit with a single-leg stocking from Rui, helmed by Chinese designer Rui Zhou, who specialises in reworking body suits.

Runner-up looks worth noting from the MV include Hyuna’s lilac polo dress from Versace, worn with Jimmy Choo x Marine Serre knee-length boots; her Moschino leather jacket with bell sleeves styled with Alexander Wang denim cutoffs; and her crystal net top adorned with butterflies by New York-based brand Area.

Aespa reveals off-duty visuals in laid-back Givenchy

Meanwhile, offstage, the members of Aespa updated their photos, clad in Givenchy, and debuting new hairstyles as well. Fans were quick to point out their model-like looks, which shone through even in this laid-back setting.

IU keeps it fresh and chic, as always, in Celebrity MV

The multitalented IU has also released a music video for her song Celebrity, a prelude to her fifth album coming soon. Her fashion repertoire transitioned from soft-hued feminine frocks to cosy knits.

Dressing to impress as always, she wore a baby blue ruffled lace dress by Korean brand Dewe Dewe to a dinner, and a luxurious pink feather dress from Blumarine during a performance.

Her off-duty staples included a patchwork knit from Korean label Odd One Out, crinkled-pleat pants from The Open Product, and a striped balloon-sleeved jumper from Ganni.
