  • The oldest Italian shipyard to specialise in luxury yachts, Benetti’s craftsmanship is well known: Beyoncé even chose to spend her lockdown birthday on one
  • A buyer from Hong Kong just made a hefty purchase of the city’s first Benetti yacht, naturally the focus of much excitement – so what’s so special about it?

The world of luxury yachts is never short of an elaborate new model for the world’s millionaires and billionaires to covet, buy or show off – and the latest creation from prestigious Italian shipyard Benetti is no exception.
Benetti has been building one-of-a-kind yachts since 1873, but opened its first office in Hong Kong in 2010. The company has since become known as the market leader in the Asia-Pacific, recording three years of sales exceeding €260 million (US$307 million). And let’s not forget that it was a Benetti superyacht that Beyoncé and Jay-Z spent last summer cruising around on.

Now, rumour has it that one of the brand’s rare Oasis 40 super yachts has been bought by a buyer in Hong Kong and is on its way here, so don’t be surprised if you spot a Benetti moored next door at your next junk party!

The Oasis superyachts are Benetti’s latest model and refer to the sprawling Oasis deck at the rear. It comes in two main models, the Oasis 34M and the Oasis 40M. However, if you’re looking for something truly extravagant, then the B.NOW 50M and B.NOW 66M also have Oasis decks.

The beauty of the Oasis yachts are their flexibility when it comes to entertaining, regardless of the time of day. Sunbathe on the deck during the day and jump right off in search of a beach, or enjoy drinks and nibbles from the sophisticated lounge with unobstructed views of the ocean beyond once the sun starts to go down.

As the first lucky owner of a Benetti Oasis 40M superyacht, Tim Ciasulli, explained to Robb Report: “It’s a very different feeling on the rear of this boat. On most, you can’t sit at the stern because of the engine exhaust and spray. But this is protected. You sit facing backwards instead of forward, right at water level. The speeds are slow enough that you can really see the ocean around you. It’s like riding a big surfboard.”
