Whether you want to celebrate Christmas Day with a lunch or dinner or the night before, the city is overflowing with options. We break down the offerings by different eateries to make the choice easier for you.

Café Renaissance

Kick-off your celebration of the Yuletide season with a plethora of seafood at the Christmas buffet (HK$658 for lunch, HK$828 for dinner) at Café Renaissance. Sink your teeth in succulent options such as oysters, blue mussels, brown crab and assorted sashimi, as well as the crowd favourite – freshly steamed lobster. On the festive menu are hearty items such as Swiss raclette, cheese fondue, roasted turkey, roasted honey mustard glazed bone ham, roasted prime rib and more. Desserts are a winter wonderland delight with every holiday sweet you can think of such as mince pie, Christmas stollen, chestnut Mont Blanc, Christmas log cake, panettone bread pudding and more.

Fans of chef Barry Quek are in for a treat as he has created a nine-course festive menu (HK$1,888 per person) for the holidays and you can be sure it’ll be full of the innovative twists that he’s loved for. Menu items include the 21-day aged Barbary duck accompanied by hay roasted apple purée and fondant potatoes. we’re looking forward to the buah keluak panettone, which is chef Quek’s take on the classic pastry with an added Southeast Asian element of black nut and more.

Head over to Spasso Saturday and Sunday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day (25 & 26) for a sumptuous Christmas brunch (HK$478). The fabulous brunch offers an enormous variety of meat- and vegetable-based dishes such as Bollito Misto turkey, zampone as well as a seafood carousel, salads and vegetables and an extensive carvery.

The Italian Christmas Eve Antipasti Dinner (HK$588) at Ciao Chow is one of the best deals in town. The antipasti buffet includes smoked hamachi carpaccio, baked black truffle oyster, octopus tartare, veal Piedmontese white truffle, smoked duck breast and much more. For mains, diners can opt for pan-seared turkey galantine, grilled and smoked Wagyu sirloin or butter-poached Boston lobster. The antipasti buffet alone is a feast.

Porterhouse will showcase a six-course set dinner menu on Christmas Day and Christmas Eve at HK$888. The sensational fare on the menu includes quail egg with beef rillettes and spinach sponge, chestnut soup with winter black truffle and porcini mushroom dust, truffle and goose liver cappelletti tortellini served in a bowl of capon consommé with and a touch of onion cream, and panettone pudding drizzled in salted caramel with rum and raisin ice cream, just to name a few of the delicious dishes.

Pirata will be hosting a Festive Brunch (HK$428) and a Christmas Tasting menu (from HK$590) where signature and seasonal items dot the menu. Look forward to Vitello tonnato and burrata, together with classic pasta dishes like grand Wagyu beef cheek pappardelle and hearty seasonal mains including terra-marre (butcher’s cut with whole lobster) and Xmas lamb shank among other delights.

Experience the holidays with a Northern Spanish twist as The Optimist serves up a multi-course brunch as well as a dinner tasting menus (from HK$498). Classic dishes grace the menu, with feasts such as a range of tapas from fresh and juicy gambas à la plancha and crispy chorizo txistorra to crunchy truffle croquettes. Main selections include the crowd favourite juicy lobster rice, the succulent chateaubriand and the deliciously grilled Spanish-style suckling pig.

Celebrate Christmas Eve or Christmas Day at Alto, with one of the best views of the city and a six-course dinner menu (HK$688). Highlights include chicken liver and foie gras parfait, poached lobster and white crab cocktail, roasted British turkey with pork stuffing, and beef Wellington served with peppercorn sauce alongside fixings such as mashed potatoes, glazed carrots and sprouts with bacon-roasted potatoes. That’s a complete Christmas meal.

Man Ho

For a holiday celebration of a different flavour, head over to Man Ho Chinese Restaurant for a Cantonese meal with friends and family. A festive eight-course (HK$1,888) wine-paired dinner menu showcases delectable dishes such as pan-fried prawn with banana and shredded bread, St. George’s mushroom soup with foie gras, sautéed sliced pigeon with black pepper and braised South African dried abalone with black mushroom and vegetable.

Amber

For a truly memorable Christmas meal, make your way to two-Michelin-starred Amber, the contemporary French restaurant helmed by Chef Richard Ekkebus. The sustainable menu prepared utilising traditional French culinary techniques needs no introduction to fans. The restaurant will have a four-course menu (HK$2,088) for its first seating on Christmas Eve to an eight-course (HK$3,388) for its second seating later in the evening. Christmas lunch and dinner menus are also available.

Bacchus

The newest haunt for oenophiles has something special planned for diners this festive season. The Christmas Eve dinner menu (HK$988) per person will feature marbling duck foie gras and 70 per cent komele chocolate and hibiscus coulis, Australian Wagyu beef Wellington, celery emulsion and truffle jus. Be sure you can wash it all down with something from one of the best wine lists in town.

La Rambla

Dine like a Catalan this Christmas at La Rambla, either with brunch (HK$780) or dinner (HK$850). Feast on traditional festive dishes like pollastre rostit (roasted spring chicken with seasonal mushroom), sarsuela de rap (French monkfish, Boston lobster, clams and mussels stew) and Tronc de Nadal (traditional Catalan Christmas cake with chocolate).

Head over to The Langham’s The Food Gallery to graze on one of the most opulent buffet spreads in the city. Sink your teeth in freshly shucked oysters, seafood on ice, roast US tom turkey, Italian style porchetta, grilled meats, live cooking stations and dishes made to order. It’s not a proper Christmas without classic desserts and patrons can take their pick of mince pies and yule logs, while the restaurant’s chocolate fountain will guarantee a good time. Buffet lunch starts at HK$428 beginning in December, with prices varying for dinner and depending on the day you go.

If sharing means caring during the holidays, then Feather & Bone’s Christmas Sharing Menu (HK$598 per person) is the place for you. The menu showcases the best the eatery has to offer, including olives, charred baguette and house-made “smoked brisket” pastrami. For mains, opt for pomegranate salumi roast turkey roulade with fig and cinnamon stuffing, and on the side are the popular favourites like Brussels sprouts, creamy mash, FAB’s much-loved house slaw, and more.

Bibi & Baba’s Chef Ho Wai-kong has prepared many Southeast Asian delights for those who want something different this festive season. Signature dishes such as Singaporean chilli crab with mantou (HK$788), sambal stingray with rice (HK$388) and Hainanese chicken with rice (HK$330) will be prepared for portions enough for four people. You can power up the fun and order a mulled wine to add to the Christmas spirit.

Available for lunch or dinner on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve, Roganic’s Christmas Feast (HK$1,088) will satisfy any festive craving. On the multi-course menu are scrumptious dishes such as roasted chestnut and celeriac soup with smoked eel and apple, 10-day aged local goose with all the trimmings, leg terrine with dates, as well as 70 per cent chocolate fondant with kumquat and brandy custard.

Bless your loved ones with Christmas tidings of the meaty kind with an exclusive “Christmas six-course Omakase Menu” (HK$1,280) at newly opened steak house Bifteck. Highlights include 30-day dry-aged A5 Kobe Wine Sirloin and the signature Japanese A5 Snow-Aged Wagyu Beef – available on December 24, 25 and 31.

Giacomo

Elegant and refined southern Italian eatery Giacomo has prepared a six-course degustation menu (HK$2,480) to celebrate Christmas lunch. Specialities such beluga caviar, Alba white truffle and foie gras to Mayura Wagyu and Bresse chicken will be part of the extravagant menu, with an option to add HK$1,080 for wine pairing as well.

Head to The Peak and chillax at Fiamma’s alfresco patio where a four-course festive menu (HK$588) awaits. It is available all day on December 24 and 25. Diners can partake in dishes like Carnaroli “acquerello” risotto with pumpkin, Grana Padano and toasted hazelnuts, and traditional Italian grilled cotechino sausage with rich lentil stew, and a dessert of pandoro sponge with mascarpone cream to follow.

Hue

If you love dining with a view, nothing beats the open space at Hue along the Tsim Sha Tsui boardwalk. The four-course Christmas dinner menu (HK$880) is available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day while a three-course lunch menu (HK$780) is available on Christmas Day only.

Start the meal with canapés such as freshly shucked Coffin Bay oysters garnished with cucumber granita and champagne, then move to starters which include leek and potato soup served with a poached Taiyouran egg and shaved truffle, and prawn terrine with cucumber and chestnut. No Christmas meal is complete without slow-cooked turkey breast served with cranberry ketchup, pickled cherries and vanilla roasted parsnips, but many other choices are available.

Landmark

A truly unique experience and a joy for gourmands. The Landmark has curated The Star Collector tour (HK$5,100) where participants go on a tour to collect 10 Michelin Stars.
