At The St Regis Hong Kong, Rosewood Hong Kong and The Upper House, soak up luxury with special packages that include everything from 24-hour butler service and wellness spa treatments to afternoon tea and exquisite meals with complimentary bubbly

Taking a staycation in one of Hong Kong’s luxury hotels is a great way to unwind without having to travel far. After a couple of days, you definitely leave feeling relaxed and very much pampered.

The St. Regis Hong Kong

The hotel: Designed by Hong Kong wunderkind and interior designer Andre Fu, this 129-room hotel includes elements of old Hong Kong such as the lighting fixtures that pay homage to the city’s old gas lamps and wall panels reminiscent of Chinese shop shutters. Its impeccable service is a nod to its founder John Jacob Aster IV, who opened the first St. Regis as a place to host his friends.

The experience: We checked into a Grand Deluxe room that had a city and a partial harbour view. The room was spacious with contemporary Asian touches, wood flooring and inviting comforts – we loved the cosy curved sofa seating around the table by the window (it became our go-to hangout).

The bespoke service started immediately as we checked in, in the comfort of our room, and the butler offered to unpack for us before arranging a time for her to prepare a bubble bath that evening. The bubble bath was divine and the facing mirror turns into a television, so you can relax in the bubbles and enjoy your favourite show.

Other special touches included the pantry with a Nespresso machine, TWG teas, a minibar of drinks and snacks, and the hotel’s range of spirits – gin, rum and vodka. The butlers are on hand to help make the tea or coffee should you need them.
