Various styles of fried chicken are ranked as the No 1 choice in all three Asian nations, with bubble tea the favourite drink, GrabFood delivery service says

It looks as if some things are universally delicious.

Fried chicken and bubble tea are this year’s the most-commonly ordered food items in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia the food delivery service, GrabFood, told Business Insider on Wednesday.

Coming in first in Singapore is fried chicken from fast-food chains, while for Malaysia and Indonesia, the variations of ayam goreng and ayam geprek (fried chicken slathered in sambal sauce) are most popular.

Grab declined to reveal the exact statistics, but said more than 13 million orders of ayam geprek have been delivered in Indonesia.

Separately, fried chicken from fast-food chains has made it into the top 10 dishes for all three markets. Additionally, ayam penyet has been the 10th most ordered item in Singapore.

The second most popular order in all three countries is bubble tea.

Orders for bubble tea are most often placed on Sundays for Singapore and Malaysia, and on Fridays in Indonesia.
