- ITZY is JYP Entertainment’s first all-girl group since TWICE
Girl band ITZY has stunned K-pop fans by reaching the summit of one of the nation’s major music charts 10 days after releasing its debut song.
South Korea’s music-only cable network Mnet said on Thursday that the five-member band had conquered its “M COUNTDOWN” chart with Dalla Dalla.
“We could have taken the top spot thanks to great affection from our fans,” ITZY said on its Twitter feed. “We really appreciate you for getting together with us from the beginning and will continue to work hard.”
ITZY, comprising Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna, is JYP Entertainment's first all-girl group since TWICE, which was formed in 2015. The band’s “girl crush” concept, differentiates it from TWICE.
It released its first digital single album “IT'z Different” on February 11. The video of the lead track Dalla Dalla had been seen over 55 million times by Friday.
