Korean stars Ahn Jae-hyun and Koo Hye-sun’s ‘blame game’ intensifies after viral birthday video

Koo’s social media followers quick to blame behaviour of Ahn after he posts new Instagram video that shows him eating alone on 32nd birthday
The bitter blame game between the South Korean stars Koo Hye-sun and Ahn Jae-hyun after the collapse of their three-year marriage has intensified after a video went viral on social media showing the actor on his 32nd birthday in June alone in a restaurant.
The widely shared video was posted this month by Ahn on his Instagram page after his 35-year-old actress wife had posted claims about the poor state of their marriage and said he had left her alone to celebrate without her.
For his birthday, I made him a beef radish soup … he only took two [spoonfuls] and left me alone to have the party with other people. By then, I already knew he doesn’t love me [very] much
Ahn’s short viral video post has been seized on by many netizens as a sign that Koo’s claims of being left alone by her husband on his birthday were true.
Other photos showing him enjoying his birthday at the restaurant were also spread on online communities.
One netizen wrote: “The feeling of being ignored and unloved hurts. It is wrong in the first place that a married man enjoys such a party without his wife.”
However, another online user wrote: “Is it so weird for a celebrity to be greeted by [restaurant] staff? Let us stop the reckless blame game on the basis of unclear circumstances.”
In an Instagram post on August 22 – in which Koo revealed she had been left at home alone by her husband on his birthday – she also alleged that she had often seen her husband drinking and talking with women on the phone at night.
“For his birthday, when I made him a beef radish soup, [after waking up] early in the morning [to make it], he only took two [spoonfuls] and left me alone to have the party with other people,” she wrote.
“By then, I already knew he doesn’t love me [very] much.”
