BTS’ Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping single Dynamite continues to take the US by storm with a performance on America’s Got Talent while new K-pop group P1Harmony debuts with a sci-fi action film – a first for the industry

K-pop fans have plenty of big news to chew on right now. BTS continue to dominate the US with hit song Dynamite while brother group TXT (Tomorrow X Together) are making a comeback with a third mini-album. Meanwhile Monsta X are taking part in the “Visit Cultural Heritage Campaign” promoting Korean heritage sites. What’s more, another K-pop boy band, P1Harmony, made history by officially debuting with an introductory sci-fi action film – a first for the industry.

BTS delivered a Dynamite performance on America's Got Talent

K-pop super group BTS delivered a high-profile performance of Dynamite, its latest smash hit single, on the popular US talent competition show America‘s Got Talent. The weekly TV program is now in its 15th season on American television network NBC.

The seven-member group performed against a backdrop of a vacant late-night amusement park – Everland, South Korea‘s largest theme park in Yongin, south of Seoul.

The show marked the penultimate appearance of the band‘s official television promotional schedule for Dynamite in the US. BTS staged a virtual media blitz for the new song, starting with the debut performance at the MTV Video Music Awards late last month followed by an appearance on the Citi Music Series on NBC’s Today show two weeks ago and an appearance on the iHeartRadio Music Festival last week.

The South Korean boy band made history last month by becoming the country’s first recording artist to top The Billboard Hot 100 chart with Dynamite . The previous highest-charting South Korean artist was soloist Psy, whose 2012 viral hit Gangnam Style peaked at the No 2 spot.

Dynamite also took the top position on the Hot 100 for the second-straight week two weeks ago, becoming the 20th song in history to have remained on top in its second week following a No 1 debut. Dynamite stood at No 2 on the chart last week.

TXT to release mini-album on October 26

K-pop boy band Tomorrow X Together (TXT)’s third mini-album Minisode1: Blue Hour will hit the shelves on October 26, its agency Big Hit Entertainment announcing, breaking the news via a motion graphic video on YouTube and Weverse, an web and mobile fan community platform.
