K-pop diva Tiffany out to follow BTS’ US success with solo album

Release of ‘Over My Skin’ by former member of Girls’ Generation on June 28 sees Tiffany Young hoping to emulate American chart-topping boy band
Tiffany, a former member of the K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation, is set to release a solo album targeting the American market.
“Over My Skin” will go on sale from June 28, her management company said on Thursday.
She will perform in the United States using a new stage name, Tiffany Young.
Before the release, she signed a contract with Paradigm Talent Agency, a major US entertainment company that manages musicians and artists such as the Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay and Jason Mraz.
She made her K-pop debut in 2007 as a member of Girls’ Generation.
But Tiffany did not renew her contract in October with SM Entertainment, the biggest entertainment agency in South Korea, so she could prepare for her US debut album.
The move comes after the Korean boy band BTS made history in May by becoming the first K-pop group to hit the number one spot on the US Billboard 200 chart with its new album, “Love Yourself: Tear”.
