You can now own British singer George Michael's artworks – here's how
Items from Christie’s George Michael Collection are on display in the city as a tribute to the star’s historic 1985 Wham! concert in Beijing
Fans of the late British singer-songwriter George Michael, who died aged 53 on December 25, 2016, have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own artworks from his personal collection.
The George Michael Collection, featuring more than 200 lots, is being offered for sale during a live auction in London on March 14 as well as an online sale from March 8 to 15.
Christie’s, which is holding the sale, says estimates for the different pieces range in price from £400 (US$520) to £1.5 million.
Proceeds will go to support the late singer’s philanthropic work.
Hong Kong fans can see selected works from the collection at Christie’s, on the 22nd floor of Alexandra House, until Friday.
The collection will then go on show in Shanghai from Saturday until February 28, before returning to London where it can be viewed at Christie’s King Street gallery from March 9 to 14, the day of the love sale.
The artworks works were previously shown in New York and Los Angeles, before their arrival in Hong Kong.
