SHINee’s Key, 2AM’s Jeong Jin-woon and VIXX’s N join military in South Korea

- All able-bodied South Korean men are required to serve in the military
The K-pop boy group members will go on active duty in the army after finishing eight weeks of basic military training.
All able-bodied South Korean men are required to serve in the military as the territory is technically at war with North Korea.
Key posted a photo of himself with short hair and a handwritten letter, on Instagram on Sunday, a day before he was expected to join the army, to bid farewell to his fans.
“I, who have never taken a long break from work, became unable to say hello to you for the time being because I was ordered to enlist in the Army on March 4,” he wrote in the letter.
“My precious time and memories that I shared with you became a driving force of my focus on the same path … I’ll be well and return after cheerfully completing the service.”
The three recently released new albums and held concerts, or a fan meeting, before their enlistment.
Key released his first solo album, “Face”, in November and has since performed his first concerts as a solo singer. On Monday, he was expected to put out “I Wanna Be,” a repackaged version of the album.
