K-pop star and actress Suzy to leave JYP after 9 years
South Korean heartthrob singer and actress Suzy is joining a new management agency representing several prominent actors including Gong Yoo and Jeon Do-youn.
She said on Tuesday that she will end her contract with JYP Entertainment this Sunday and move to Management SOOP.
Suzy, 24, who acts under the name Suzy Bae, and whose real name is Bae Su-ji, has been with JYP since 2010. Her first seven-year contract ended in 2017, but she then signed up for another two years.
She made her debut as a member of K-pop girl group miss A in 2010 – which disbanded in 2017 – and launched her acting career in the 2011 television drama, Dream High. She has since continued her career in both singing and acting.
Suzy, who starred in the 2017 television fantasy drama series, While You were Sleeping, is currently filming the television series Vagabond.
