K-pop band BTS team up with US singer Halsey on new music track ‘Boy with Luv’
- After Nicki Minaj and DJ Steve Aoki, the Korean boy band has collaborated with Halsey, who appears in a teaser clip of the song, part of their new album ‘Map of the Soul: Persona’
K-pop superstars BTS on Monday released a teaser video of Boy with Luv, the main track of their upcoming album “Map of the Soul: Persona”, featuring young American singer and songwriter Halsey.
The 46-second video, uploaded on the boy band’s official homepage and social media accounts early Monday, begins with an image of Halsey in a ticket box. She hastily closes the box office and leaves – but not before a brief encounter with BTS in front of the theatre.
The video then cuts to the seven BTS members, backs to the camera, standing on a dark stage lit up with a colourful screen and a neon sign spelling out the word “Love”.
Halsey, 24, is the latest high-profile pop star to work with BTS, after the band’s collaborations – both remix versions – with US DJ Steve Aoki on MIC Drop, and diva Nicki Minaj on Idol, the main track of “Love Yourself: Answer”.
Having debuted in 2015, Halsey topped the Billboard 200 album chart with her second full-length album, “Hopeless Fountain Kingdom”, in 2017.
She released a photo of her meeting with BTS in Seoul in August last year, when she was in South Korea for a performance.
The Boy with Luv teaser video dropped ahead of the Friday, April 12 release of “Map of the Soul: Persona”. BTS will promote the album with an appearance on the NBC show Saturday Night Live on April 13.
