K-pop girl group BLACKPINK’s Boombayah passes 600 million views on YouTube
- The quartet is the first South Korean act to have two songs achieve that milestone after last year’s single, Ddu-Du Ddu-Du, which has 800 million YouTube views
The video of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK’s song, Boombayah, has surpassed 600 million views on YouTube, its management agency says.
The group’s 2016 debut single passed the threshold at about 7.25am on Thursday, according to YG Entertainment.
It is the four-member group’s second song to achieve the feat, following the 800 million-views racked up for the video of last year’s single, Ddu-Du Ddu-Du.
That makes BLACKPINK the first South Korean act to have two music videos with more than 600 million YouTube views.
The 2017 video for its song, As If It’s Your Last, is also on the verge of passing the 600 million-views mark on YouTube.
The group’s latest video, for Kill This Love, which was released on April 5, passed 300 million YouTube views earlier this month.
