K-pop group Girls’ Generation member Yoona will release a special album “A Walk to Remember” on her 30th birthday on Thursday.
A week ago, her agency SM Entertainment announced a plan to release her first solo album since her debut. It will have five songs including two new ones: its title Summer Night and Promise.
The other three are previously released solo songs Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway (2016), When the Wind Blows (2017) and To You (2018).
In an SM statement, she was quoted as saying, “When I first read the lyrics, the group’s fan club SONE [pronounced “So-won”] came to my mind so I had the word ‘pink’ [her fan club’s official colour] added to the lyrics.” Yoona said Promise was dedicated to her fans.
The album will be released through music streaming sites on May 30 at 6pm.
Yoona started in 2007 with Girls’ Generation. She also acts, and starred in the movie Confidential Assignment about a South and North Korean police story and dramas.
