New six-member K-pop girl band Rocket Punch is about to debut featuring Japanese singer Juri Takahashi from AKB48

Woollim Entertainment, home to K-pop groups Infinite and Lovelyz, has launched new girl band Rocket Punch.

The record label has unveiled on Twitter the band's “concept film”, which introduces six members: Juri, Yeonhee, Suyun, Yunkyoung, Sohee and Dahyun.

In the clip, they appear in a mystic garden. The subtitles describe them as “chic,” “shy” and “clumsy”.

The band’s debut is reportedly scheduled for August.

“Rocket Punch has already grabbed the attention of fans and industry officials,” the agency’s spokesman said. “It is expected to be one of the best girl bands for the second half of this year.”

Juri Takahashi from Japan is a pivotal member. She is a former member of Japan's flagship girl band AKB48 and appeared on Mnet's idol audition show PRODUCE 48 in 2018.
